Posted Pay Range: $81,000 - $112,000

Position Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an External Controls Technician to work as part of the North American team. The role will give opportunity to gain many skill sets, from BMS commissioning to cutting-edge water system control and new technologies. The role offers a strong grounding to progress towards Project management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site commissioning of controls projects and system integration (BMS/Energy Monitoring/HVAC controls/upgrade works)
2. Site surveys / progress reviews
3. Supervise installation sub-contractors where required
4. Troubleshoot site issues
5. Liaise with Customers and Project Engineers
6. Customers Training
7. Provide technical and engineering support where required
8. Actively work with the controls team to increase efficiency and achieve prescribed targets
9. Maintain a high standard of quality control
10. Gain valuable client relationships
11. Be flexible in types of work carried out
12. Be prepared to work away from home when required
13. Field experience with HVAC applications/cooling/heating systems – ideally in a commissioning role
14. Competent electrical knowledge and capable of understanding electrical drawings
15. Competent in carrying out electrical modifications to HVAC systems
16. Logical and methodical approach to problem solving using own initiative is a must

Required Education & Qualifications

1. Have good written & communication skills
2. Team player
3. OSHA 10 or Higher
4. Experience with programmable controllers is desirable:
5. Carel 1tool software and pCO controllers
6. Trend SET and IQ controllers
7. Tridium Niagara 4 software and controllers
8. Cooling systems knowledge
9. Capable of understanding and modifying control strategies
10. Awareness of BMS/DCIM and common communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP)
11. Knowledge of IT systems, servers and communication networks
