Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Design Release Engineer to help design, engineer, and release exterior BGFT components such as bumper, grille, fascia, and trim. You will lead or participate in cross-functional Product Development Teams to deliver components on time and with required quality.

This role requires a BS in engineering and at least 2 years of related experience, strong communication and program management skills, and the ability to manage design reviews and interface control documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience as a Design Release Engineer or relevant industry experience.
• Experience in execution of vehicle development cycles (concept through production launch).
• Program management skills.
• Physics-based problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and release exterior subsystems (BGFT) components.
• Support or lead cross-functional Product Development Team(s) for BGFT components.
• Design and package BGFT and directed-buy components such as sensors, lamps, etc.
• Develop ICD criteria and interface requirements for components/subsystems.
• Support launch efforts with plants and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
