Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Design Release Engineer for exterior components at the Warren Tech Center. This hybrid role requires on-site work at least three days per week, collaborating with design, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, validation, and suppliers.

You will lead or participate in multi-functional product development teams, develop requirements, manage design releases, and advance technologies for EVs and advanced lighting.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering required.
• 1+ year in Design Release or related role.
• Experience from concept to production launch.
• Strong communication with internal/external partners.
• Proven program management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support cross-functional PDTs for exterior components.
• Design, package, and release BGFT components to meet targets.
• Develop requirements and surfaces with Studio.
• Innovate for EVs, autonomous tech and lighting.
• Ensure on-time design with quality milestones.
• Support design reviews and ICD documentation.
• Assist launch with plants and cross-functional teams.
