Job summary

Cambridge Public Schools, Office of Student Services, seeks an Extended Term Substitute Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor at CRLS (Cambridge Rindge & Latin School). The role supports students’ emotional and academic growth in a high school setting.

Responsibilities include evaluating behavior, planning treatment, developing IEPs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide mental health services. Prior school experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Preferred MA License (DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor and LCSW/LICSW or LMHC).
• Knowledge of and experience with students with social, language, and behavioral deficits.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of psychopathology and family dynamics.
• Assess behavior and interpretation of testing; plan treatment.
• Provide preventive interventions for emotional issues affecting academics.
• Develop IEPs and SMART goals for mental health needs.
• Progress monitor IEP goals using data collection tools.
• Engage in professional development and adhere to ethical standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and crisis intervention as needed.
