Job summary

Medford Public Schools is seeking a School Adjustment Counselor for a long-term substitute role in Medford, MA. The counselor will work under supervision to support students with special needs, implement district curricula, and document progress in line with IEP/504 plans.

The role involves collaboration with RTI teams, providing counseling, and offering professional development to staff. Immediate starting date with full-time duties in a public school setting.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by MA as School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor.
• Massachusetts Health Professional license LICSW/LMHC is required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school-based teams to develop therapeutic intervention plans and/or behavior intervention plans that address student’s needs.
• Provide consultation to staff and/or direct counseling to students as a member of the RTI program.
• Assist parents, staff and others in understanding RTI, special education, and 504 processes and services.
• Provide direct counseling intervention services to students according to IEPs, 504 Accommodation Plans, or as needed.
• Coordinate with state agencies (DCF, DMR, DMH, CSA).
• Complete documentation and reporting to maintain compliance with regulations.
