Cambridge Public Schools seeks an Extended Term Substitute Guidance Counselor for Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS). The position runs September 2026 through November 2026, serving grades 9–12 and focusing on adolescent guidance and counseling within a supportive learning community.

The ideal candidate has experience with diverse urban students, a bachelor’s degree, and Massachusetts DESE School Counselor certification; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Massachusetts DESE School Counselor certification required.
• Experience with adolescents in urban, multicultural settings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with counselors, school psychologists, social workers, teachers and staff.
• Foster a safe, caring, and active learning community.
• Engage families in student learning and development as partners.
• Build partnerships with community organizations.
• Counsel all students toward their educational potential.
• Promote high expectations and dignified next steps for students.
• Develop, collect, analyze, and interpret data.
• Integrate pre-college guidance into the program.
• Communicate regularly with students and families.
