Job summary

The Maryland State Department of Education seeks an Extended Learning Opportunities Specialist to lead and provide technical assistance for 21st Century Community Learning Centers. You will guide summer and after-school programs and liaise with LEAs to strengthen youth development across Maryland.

Responsibilities include monitoring grantees, delivering professional development, and helping design and evaluate after-school strategies that boost academic achievement for disadvantaged students.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or 36 credit hours post-baccalaureate from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of administrative or teaching experience in, or affiliated with, an education program.
• Two years of grant writing, reviewing, or management experience.
• The education and experience requirements can be substituted per MSDE rules.

Responsibilities

• Acts as technical specialist for monitoring 21st CCLC afterschool programs.
• Provides leadership and technical assistance to local recipients of 21st CCLC grants.
• Assists in design, development, implementation, and evaluation of after-school programs to raise academic achievement.
• Delivers professional development to 21st CCLC grantees across Maryland’s LEAs.
