Job summary

Highlands School is seeking an organized Extended Day Program and Summer Camp Assistant to support after-school and summer activities for 4K–8 students in the Birmingham area.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage schedules, sign-in/out, and student records using CampBrain, Excel, and Google Workspace. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or can be obtained.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience working with children in an educational or camp setting preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and CampBrain database.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations of the Extended Day and Summer Camp programs.
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators via email and phone.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets for activities, attendance, and program organization.
• Prepare and manage roll sheets and sign-in/out forms for all grade levels.
• Register students and maintain records in CampBrain software.
• Organize daily schedules, activities, and counselor assignments by grade level.
• Support a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all students.
