The Walpole Extended Day Program provides on-site before- and after-school care for all children enrolled in a Walpole Public Elementary School. Each program maintains at least a 13:1 student to adult ratio and is designed to provide all students a variety of options to be creative and learn through both play and social interaction. Physical recreation is offered daily indoors and/or outdoors. Quiet space for reading and homework is provided daily in addition to a variety of structured activities/crafts, recess/PE play, presentations, and clubs at no additional charge.
The morning schedule provides time to eat breakfast prior to the start of the school day and the afternoon program provides a snack and drink shortly after the end of the school day. While we want the children to join us as much as possible, families are able to structure their attendance to meet their individual before and after school needs. Our Before School programs begin at 7:00am and After School programs end at 6:00pm at each of the district elementary schools regardless of normal school day start or dismissal times.
Program activities and daily projects are planned and implemented by qualified staff members from a variety of education and child development backgrounds. The Walpole Public Schools Extended Day Program does not discriminate in providing services to children and their families on the basis of race, sexual orientation, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, national origin, disability or marital status.
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan for Walpole Public Schools is to demonstrate a high level of Cultural Proficiency as evidenced by active promotion of diversity in all aspects of instruction, learning, and participation, thus ensuring equity for all and full inclusion of members of the educational and greater community.
