Job summary

Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System in Radcliff, KY seeks an expressive therapist aide/coordinator to plan, schedule, and implement life skills and leisure activities for patients under the direction of the Director of Activity Therapy. Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System is a 140-bed hospital offering inpatient services for adolescents, adults, military, veterans and first responders. Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System has a spacious cafeteria, gymnasium, art/activity room, group rooms, classrooms and other areas to create a pleasant atmosphere for patients and their families. Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System’s quality services are provided by psychiatrists, licensed therapists, certified alcohol and drug counselors, activity therapists and teachers. Also, care is given by registered nurses 24 hours a day. Since 1986, Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System has been a proven psychiatric care provider in mental health and substance use.

The Expressive therapist is a key member of the Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System Activity therapy team. The Activity Aide/Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and implementing life skills and leisure activity programs for the patients based on appropriate developmental, social, and emotional stages of each patient under the direction of the Director of Activity Therapy. The Activity Aide/Coordinator plans activities to meet the specific needs of the patient population including patient with physical limitations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assesses each patient, within 72 hours of admission, using the activity therapy assessment form and provides documentation of such in the progress notes.
• Develops goals on the master treatment plan of each patient, ensuring that the goals are meaningful to the patient and that the patient understands the purpose.
• Share responsibility for the cleanliness, orderliness, and inventory of all activity therapy areas.
• Plans and implements a variety of activity therapy groups weekly as specific programs require.
• Excellent judgment and clinical skills are essential for this position.
