Exportability Engineer – Defense Systems & TSFD

Job summary

PeopleTec is seeking a Mid-Level Exportability Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support a PMO within Fires and advise on exportability for advanced defense systems. You will bridge system architecture with TSFD policy, assess CPI/AT considerations, and help stand up new DEF studies for future programs.

The role requires DoD program office experience, an active Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility, and strong leadership to guide cross-functional teams in a regulated defense environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in exportability engineering within defense or aerospace industries.
• Knowledge of Anti-Tamper (AT), reverse engineering mitigation, and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).
• Experience with complex weapon systems, Counter-UAS (C-UAS) architectures, or advanced sensor/seeker integration.
• Ability to translate TSFD and security requirements into actionable hardware and software designs.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and defense requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Previous experience working in a U.S. Government Program Office (required).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active DoD clearance: Secret, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and leadership in exportability engineering across the system lifecycle (design, development, acquisition, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment).
• Conduct audits of baseline architectures to identify CPI, advanced algorithms, and hardware susceptible to reverse engineering.
• Assist in standing up additional DEF studies by evaluating technical feasibility of export modifications.
• Define export variants based on TSFD assessments and ensure they meet performance and security criteria.
• Use modeling/simulation to assess impact on kinematic performance, weight, and lethality after DEF modifications.
• Draft CPI and High-Level AT/Modularity Strategies and support ENDP documentation.
• Ensure defense/industry standards compliance in exportability processes.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external organizations on exportability objectives.
