Job summary

ITAC Solutions is seeking a Technical Lead Project Engineer to join our defense electronics sustainment client in Huntsville, AL. You will lead cross-discipline teams to turn requirements into ruggedized, mission-ready hardware and software solutions for DoD programs.

You will coordinate system architecture, subsystem integration, and verification, while serving as the primary technical interface with customers and stakeholders. A U.S. Secret clearance is required or achievable.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Experience with rugged, military-spec electronics or embedded computing.
• Familiarity with DoD standards and verification/validation processes.
• Background in reverse-engineering or modernizing legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead project technical activities across electrical, mechanical, software, test, and systems engineering.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering plans and system-level approaches.
• Oversee system architecture, subsystem integration, and technical decisions.
• Ensure designs meet functional, environmental, and performance requirements for ruggedized electronics.
• Coordinate reverse-engineering, sustainment, and modernization of legacy systems.
• Serve as primary technical interface with customers and stakeholders.
• Lead engineering reviews, documentation, and configuration management.
