• Communicates with freight forwarders and internal teams by phone and email to resolve issues.
• Assists with domestic shipping as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Salary Range: $17.00 To $20.00 Hourly

OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE

Provides support in the planning and shipping of foreign sales orders, coordinating with members of the International Sales Department and the Transportation Department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

• Works in compliance with all company safety policies and procedures and contributes to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
• Carries out fulfillment activities of international shipments by reading shipping orders, determining most practical shipping method, ensuring proper completion of necessary forms and arranging for pick up by freight forwarder or other transportation provider.
• Consolidates material from various Branch Plants across the company into single export shipments for customer orders. Assures material is packed properly so it arrives to the customer intact.
• Prepares shipping documents such as export licenses, customs declarations, and US Fish and Wildlife. Understands country of destination requirements related to such documents.
• Maintains files and records of all shipments pending receipt of freight bill, combines various documents to provide complete paper trail, makes notations and corrections, and disperses copies to customer and appropriate internal departments as required.
• Communicates with internal customers and freight forwarders by phone and email. Assists International Sales Department to resolve customer problems.
• Assists with domestic shipping as demand requires to service all customers.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience: 1 year of warehouse experience required. Export shipping experience preferred.

Specialized Training/Skills: Understanding and utilization of Company’s ERP system and Microsoft Office.
