Location: Mobile, AL, Savannah, GA or Charleston, SC
Work Schedule: Onsite Monday-Friday
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end export process, including order processing, scheduling shipments, and tracking from origin to destination.
- Prepare, review, and process export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, export declarations, and other required paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, export controls, and any relevant government agency rules (e.g., filing AES in the US if applicable).
- Book cargo space with carriers (ocean shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, or freight forwarders) and arrange transportation logistics.
- Track and monitor shipments in transit, resolve issues or delays, and provide updates to customers and stakeholders.
- Manage billing and invoicing for assigned export files, ensuring all charges are accurate and processed in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, transactions, and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Handle customer inquiries, provide status updates, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction regarding shipment timelines and delivery.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with export and import documentation software/tools is a plus (Descartes).
- Ocean import/export experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Export and/or related field preferred.
