Prestage Farms in Iowa seeks an Export Clerk to oversee documentation, logistics, and compliance for international shipments. The role ensures accurate export paperwork, coordinates with carriers, and tracks shipments from facility to destination.

The position requires collaboration with legal, production, sales, and finance teams to meet regulatory requirements and maintain auditable records. This is a full-time, on-site role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage export documentation such as invoices, packing lists, origin certificates and bills of lading.
• Coordinate with shipping partners and freight forwarders to arrange transportation and track shipments.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs, and licensing requirements.
• Submit customs declarations accurately and on time, and maintain records for audits.
• Serve as a communication hub between production, sales, finance and external authorities.

Job description

The Export Clerk plays a crucial role in facilitating the efficient movement of goods from our facility to international markets. This position will involve the management of the documentation, logistics, and internal communication associated with exporting products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining effective coordination between various departments and external partners.

Export Documentation

• Prepare and manage all required export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping instructions, and bills of lading
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to comply with international regulations and customs requirements
• Collaborate with the legal department to ensure adherence to export controls, trade compliance, and licensing regulations

Requirements

Logistics Coordination

• Coordinate with shipping and logistics partners to arrange for the transportation of goods to their final destinations
• Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure smooth export processes
• Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any delays or issues that arise

Compliance

• Stay updated on international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures to ensure adherence during the export process
• Complete and submit customs declarations and documentation accurately and in a timely manner

Communication and Coordination

• Act as a point of contact between various internal departments (production, sales, finance) and external stakeholders (suppliers, customs authorities, shipping agents)
• Communicate shipment details, delivery schedules, and any potential disruptions to relevant parties

Record Keeping

• Maintain organized records of export documentation, shipping details, and compliance records for auditing and reference purposes
• Generate reports on export activities, shipping costs, and timelines as required by management
