Job summary

The Export Control Manager at Wichita State University leads the university's export control program, ensuring compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and related requirements while supporting groundbreaking research and global collaborations.

This role advises faculty and researchers, manages licensing processes, maintains ITAR registration, and partners with federal agencies to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in an export control program in a corporate or academic environment.
• One (1) year of experience in classification and jurisdiction determinations for technology, products, materials, equipment, and software; One (1) year of experience in filing and managing export license applications with federal agencies.

Responsibilities

• Advises on export control issues and changes to export control laws for internal partners.
• Develops and implements policies, procedures, plans, and guidance for the university community.
• Reviews activities for licensing applicability to imports/exports and deemed exports.
• Maintains ITAR Registration, including updates and annual renewals.
