Job summary

AAR Corp. is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead export licensing, import/export regulation interpretation, and related compliance initiatives. This role focuses on ITAR/EAR controls, ABAC, and ensuring our shipments and licenses meet all regulatory requirements in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Logistics, International Trade, International Business, Engineering, or related area.
• Minimum 5 years Global Trade Compliance experience.
• Minimum 3 years Export Licensing Experience.
• Thorough working knowledge of ITAR/EAR, import/export government regulations.
• Familiarity with on-line tools such as DECCS, Snap‑R, and ACE.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Certified US Export Compliance Officer (preferred).
• Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Draft, execute, and manage export license applications and Technical Assistance Agreements, provide import clearance instructions and manage other Trade Compliance matters to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Review and ensure compliance for import and export shipments and transactions to include licenses, aircraft, aircraft-related shipments and reports.
• Analyze and interpret trade compliance laws and regulations such as the ITAR, EAR, OFAC and BATFE and implement industry best practices in accordance with those laws and regulations.
• Use and keep abreast of on-line tools including but not limited to DECCS, Snap‑R, EASE and ACE and provide assistance in training and resolving issues and errors.
• Analyze and determine import and export control classifications, including HTS and ECCNs.
• Understand and recommend company use of ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions for the export of products and technical data while managing technical data export control compliance.
• Provide guidance and training to company personnel regarding trade regulatory compliance in the strategy, proposal, development and execution of company operations.
• Serve as an Empowered Official.
• Attend meetings to support, enable and review business execution.
• Review agreements to provide guidance and regulatory impacts.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
