TSI was founded in 1973 in Tempe, Arizona, by our current owner and president. We now run two shifts and employ just over 100 people. We're conveniently located about five minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

About the Role:

The Export Compliance Coordinator makes sure our international and export-controlled shipments comply with U.S. export regulations (ITAR and EAR) and company policies. • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) as defined under ITAR (22 CFR 120.62), as this position requires access to export-controlled technical data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Visual Manufacturing a plus).
  • Experience shipping under ITAR licenses or exemptions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit export license applications and amendments under ITAR (DECCS) and EAR (SNAP-R) for review and signature by the company’s Empowered Official.

  • Gather technical and commercial information from Engineering and Sales to support product classification (USML category / ECCN).
  • Obtain end-use statements and other required customer documentation.
  • Review international and export-controlled shipments before release to confirm proper authorization.
  • File Electronic Export Information (EEI) in AESDirect and assign Schedule B numbers.
  • Prepare packing lists, and other export documents, and coordinate with freight forwarders.
  • Screen customers, suppliers, and end users against U.S. government restricted-party lists.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready export and license records.
  • Stay current on export regulation changes and share relevant updates with management.
