Job summary

Slim Chickens is seeking an Expo team member to be the heartbeat of our kitchen, ensuring orders are prepared accurately and promptly. You will read the KDS monitor, communicate with the cook, maintain order hierarchy, stock prep areas, and lead peers to deliver quality meals in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the menu and react quickly to each item ordered to ensure accuracy. Maintain the appearance of every order, keep a clean workstation, and complete all prep

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the menu.
• Ability to read and act on KDS monitor instructions.
• Ability to lead peers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Read the KDS monitor and prepare orders as indicated.
• React to each item ordered with speed and accuracy.
• Communicate to the cook how much food should be cooking at all times.
• Maintain proper appearance of every order and a clean workstation.
• Complete all assigned prep work and ensure stations are stocked.
• Effectively lead a team of peers.

Expo, short for expediter, is the heart of the restaurant. It is from this station that every order is prepared and sent to the Guest. The expo Team Members are peer leaders so in addition to the required skills, they must also possess skills and abilities necessary to effectively lead others.

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the menu.

• Demonstrate a complete understanding of order hierarchy.

• Making sure that the sandwich/salad/wrap station is properly stocked for each shift as well as the dipping sauce station.
