Job summary

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is seeking an Explosives Technician to join our team at Picatinny Arsenal.

You will work with engineers and technicians handling, testing, and developing energetic materials and devices, with emphasis on safety and precise data documentation. The role requires US citizenship, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen able to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Pass drug and alcohol testing.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with mechanical skills.
• Experience with explosives, ammunition, or hazardous materials preferred.
• Familiarity with DoD safety regulations for explosives is a plus.
• Must wear PPE and maintain safe work practices.
• High School diploma and 5 years experience required; EOD/UXO certification is beneficial.
• Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and the ability to obtain a government license.

Responsibilities

• Handle, store, and transport explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics per safety rules.
• Set up and execute explosive tests and experiments.
• Assemble, disassemble, and modify experimental explosive systems.
• Perform diagnostic testing and record data with various instrumentation.
• Operate and maintain equipment for mixing, handling, and testing energetic materials.
• Conduct pre- and post-test inspections and document findings.
• Consult with engineers to ensure procedures and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab and test-site area.
