Job summary

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team on the MCWS program at Picatinny Arsenal.

The role involves hands-on assembly, inspection, refurbishment, testing, and documentation of medium-caliber weapon systems, with strict adherence to Army security, safety, and configuration-control standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, be eligible for DoD security clearance, and be able to pass AMMO-45 training,

Qualifications

• This role requires US citizenship and DoD security clearance readiness.
• Pass drug and alcohol testing and medical surveillance as required.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with machine shop processes and safety requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic PC tasks.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly, inspection, refurbishment, and reassembly of MCWS weapons per manuals and configurations.
• Perform functional checks, torque verification, and hardware replacement on weapons and fixtures.
• Support engineering tests, setup fixtures, barrel installs, and instrumentation.
• Maintain readiness of weapons, mounts, tools, and support equipment per AR guidance.
• Document maintenance actions and part replacements using standard forms and logs.
• Assist with loading, transport, and accountability of inert components as required.
• Support development, qualification, and endurance testing on and off site.
