Job summary

Castelion is seeking an Explosives Safety & Operations Officer to provide hands-on safety support for energetic manufacturing, development, and test activities at our New Mexico facility, with significant travel to Midland, TX. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Operations, and EHS to develop and implement safety controls as operations scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline with safety focus.
• Experience with energetic manufacturing, missile systems, or munitions.
• Knowledge of ATF and DoD explosives safety standards.
• Experience in hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Experience delivering safety training.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite explosives safety oversight for energetic manufacturing, assembly, and test operations.
• Support compliance with ATF, DoD 4145.26-M, and related safety standards.
• Conduct hazard analyses, safety reviews, and readiness assessments.
• Identify energetic hazards and implement practical controls.
• Develop safety procedures, training, and qualification requirements.
• Coordinate inventory, storage, and inspection with cross-functional teams.
• Assist with safety protocols for unplanned or off-nominal conditions.
• Coordinate coverage across Castelion sites and travel as needed.
