Job summary

Austin Powder in Kentucky is seeking a Mix Plant Operator to support safe, productive manufacturing in our booster department. You will follow written work instructions, run packaging and handling processes for explosive products, inspect outputs, and help identify hazards while keeping equipment running smoothly.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 60 lbs, and willingness to obtain forklift and box truck certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet state and federal explosive laws and ATF explosive processor qualification.
• 1+ years of manufacturing or explosives/chemical manufacturing experience.
• Lift up to 60 lbs and work in loud environments.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and written work instructions for packaging/handling of explosive products.
• Inspect manufactured products for accuracy and quality.
• Identify and report hazards in the production area.
• Operate manufacturing equipment and ensure proper function.
• Troubleshoot with supervision to resolve technical issues.
• Obtain forklift and box truck certifications within designated timeframe.
• Operate and maintain manufacturing vehicles as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Area Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
