Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Follow all written work instructions and standard operating procedures related to packaging and handling of explosive products.
- Inspect manufactured products for accuracy and quality.
- Identify and report hazards within the production area.
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with supervisors and area leads to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Operate and maintain manufacturing vehicles as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the area lead, supervisor, or department manager.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or explosive/chemical handling preferred.
- Mechanically inclined with basic understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Must meet all state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive processor.
Skills, Knowledge and Requirements
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to read and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability to work various shifts and overtime on short notice.
- Comfortable working in environments with loud noise (50–90 decibels), hot/cold temperatures, and wet floors.
- Ability to repetitively lift and carry up to 60 lbs and stand/walk for up to 10 hours per day.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to wear work uniforms and required PPE.
- Must pass semi-annual blood checks due to potential chemical exposure.
- Ability to be fitted for and wear a half‑faced formal respirator as needed.
- Comfortable working on ladders and handling chemicals.
- Must be able to repetitively bend and perform physical tasks.
Work Environment
This is a safety‑sensitive position which requires employees to disclose the use of any prescription medication that may affect their ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
