Job summary

Vertex Exploratory Chemistry Co-Op is a 6-month experiential training program for students pursuing an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields. You will gain hands-on experience in PD Media Development, collaborate with chemistry and biology teams, and learn from industry leaders on meaningful projects.

The program is on-site in Boston, full-time and paid, offering $30.00 – $50.00 USD/hour, with the January–July 2027 schedule and the November 15, 2026 application

Qualifications

• Senior, Master’s, or PhD candidates welcome.
• Chemical Engineering or Chemistry degree required.
• LC-MS familiarity and solubility/stability testing experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize chemical reagents and mixtures for small molecule studies.
• Support solubility and stability assessments with cross-functional teams.
• Process LC-MS data to assess identity and degradation profiles.
• Document methods and observations clearly for reproducibility.
• Summarize findings to optimize factor kitting workflows for the program.
