Job summary

Obsidian is seeking meticulous Japanese annotators to process public PDFs. You will open pages, confirm Japanese content, and bound each region by type and reading order. You will transcribe text with kanji, kana, and furigana, flag unreadable areas, and record relationships to figures and tables.

Qualifications

• Native Japanese speaker with full kanji, kana mastery and furigana handling.
• Experience in transcription, translation, or editorial work.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify task pages are in Japanese and legible.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning types and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully, including kanji, kana and handwritten content.
• Capture page metadata and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Undergo end-to-end review by a second Japanese expert.
