Job summary

Mercor is seeking a meticulous PDF Annotation & Transcription Expert (Japanese) for remote work. You will locate Japanese PDFs with multimodal content, annotate structures, and assign reading-order indices.

You will transcribe faithfully, preserving kanji, kana, and handwriting, record page metadata, and ensure quality via peer reviews by a Japanese expert.

Qualifications

• Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana.
• Professional experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, or editorial work.
• Exact character-level accuracy, prioritizing precision over speed.
• Systematic approach with taxonomy consistency across documents.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like vertical text and multi-column newspapers.

Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Japanese
