Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Experimental Assembly and Test Mechanic to support testing of production and experimental gas turbine engines and related equipment. You will install, test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain engines used in aerospace, marine, and power generation, ensuring airworthiness, performance and safety.

This union hourly role operates on a 9/80 schedule onsite, with relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 1+ year of mechanical experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
• FAA Power Plant License.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Basic computer skills and experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Completing basic inspection tasks.
• Install, conduct tests, troubleshoot, repair and maintain gas turbine engines used in aerospace, marine, and power generation products.
• Maintaining test facilities.
• Maintaining electrical systems, lubrication systems, ignition and starting systems.
• Lifting of medium-to-heavy equipment.
• Working around moving machinery, flammable fluids, high pressures and temperatures.
• May be required to work from a raised platform.
• Basic housekeeping duties.
• Must be proficient with the use of computers.
