Job summary

Rogers Memorial Hospital, Inc. seeks an Experiential Therapist I to develop, plan, implement, and evaluate experiential therapy programming in diverse settings. You will apply knowledge of psychosocial functioning and expressive activities within a psychiatric setting, while promoting a team-oriented care approach.

The role emphasizes professional conduct, de-escalation, documentation, and adherence to Joint Commission standards, with involvement in ROS and staff training.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required in art, music, dance, recreation, or related therapies.
• Master’s degree in these areas preferred.
• CPR/Professional Rescue certification within 30 days of hire.
• Formal training in aggressive patient management within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiential therapy as scheduled and evaluate programming needs.
• Plan and coordinate therapy activities to meet patient/resident needs.
• Maintain safe therapy environments and complete documentation per policy.
• Provide leadership and participate in ROS processes and department meetings.
• Train new employees and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff.
