Job summary

Rogers Memorial Hospital, Inc. seeks an Experiential Therapist I to develop, plan, implement, and evaluate experiential therapy programs across specialized treatment areas within a psychiatric setting. This role supports interdisciplinary staff and uses expressive activities to enhance psychosocial functioning.

The position requires a BS/BA in related therapies, a Master’s degree preferred, licensure/certification where applicable, and CPR within 30 days. A $1,000 retention bonus is available.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in art, music, dance, recreation or related therapies is required.
• Master’s degree in these areas preferred.
• Certification/registration through credentialing boards preferred.
• Valid driver license in state of employment.
• AHA CPR or Red Cross certification within 30 days of hire; annual renewals.
• Formal training in aggressive-patient management within 60 days; annual renewals.
• Ropes & Challenge Course training with yearly renewal.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans, implements, facilitates and evaluates experiential therapy programming in all specialized treatment areas.
• Documents within designated program.
• Utilizes recreational activities to aid patients/residents to learn recovery skills.
• Provides individualized treatment within a group setting.
• Awareness of CBT and DBT skills.
