Job summary

The Experiential Education Assistant (Student) at American University supports experiential learning projects within the Career Center. You will collect and manage data, research open-source materials, and communicate with staff, faculty, and students to enable effective experiential learning programs.

This part-time role requires 8–12 hours per week, starting in October 2026, with possible continuation pending funding and continued enrollment.

Qualifications

• Incoming or current AU student with an active FWS award.
• Must reside in DC, MD, or VA during employment.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel to manage large data sets.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new software and technologies.
• Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Data management: collect data, categorize, and enter into Excel; create reports with visuals.
• Outreach: manage email box and coordinate communication with staff and students; use social media for outreach.
• Other duties: provide general administrative support for experiential learning projects.
