Job summary

Seismique in Houston, TX is seeking an Interactive Exhibit Technician to maintain and operate immersive AV-driven exhibits. This on-site role requires troubleshooting and routine maintenance of audio, video, lighting, and projection systems to ensure guests enjoy a seamless experience.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with AV gear, microcontrollers, and lighting controls, plus the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Audio Visual (AV) Systems and Projectors setup, calibration, and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and connectivity in live environments.
• Experience with microcontrollers, LEDs, and low voltage wiring systems.
• Soldering skills for hardware assembly and repair.
• Python experience is appreciated.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Basic hand and power tool proficiency.
• Basic woodworking, painting, and scenic art skills are a plus.
• Comfort using a scissor lift and working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor interactive exhibits to ensure full functionality for guests.
• Inspect installations at opening/closing, perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues in real time.
• Collaborate with creative/operations teams for upgrades and installations.
• Document technical procedures and equipment inventories.
• Respond to incident reports and coordinate with vendors or external support when needed.
• Maintain a safe, reliable, and engaging visitor experience.
