CityVet is seeking Experienced Veterinary Technicians to join us. A Veterinary Technician Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Compensation is based on experience and education.

The Veterinary Technician (VT) is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by assisting the Veterinarian in their duties. They help to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative tasks, facilitating communication between the operating room, front office, and clients.

Essential Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age at hire
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Self-motivated and team-oriented

A Day In The Life

• Assist Veterinarians with prepping patients for surgery, monitoring post-op, restraining animals during exams
• Gather samples for testing
• Test samples and interpret results
• Administer medications, vaccines, anesthesia as directed
• Communicate with clients and provide care instructions
• Support Client Service team as needed
