Job summary

Miramar Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist in Jacksonville, FL. The role focuses on delivering exceptional client service as the first point of contact for pet parents, coordinating appointments, and handling payments with accuracy.

You will work with veterinarians and technicians to maintain smooth daily operations, ensuring a caring and organized front desk environment and providing a positive experience for every visitor and patient.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience required; veterinary experience preferred.
• Availability for evenings shifts and alternating Saturdays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in person, on the phone, and in writing.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with computers and office management systems; veterinary software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients warmly from check-in to checkout.
• Answer calls, texts, and emails and address questions promptly.
• Schedule appointments and manage daily flow to keep the clinic on track.
• Process payments, review invoices, and answer billing questions clearly.
• Update client and patient records accurately and send reminders.
• Handle prescription refills and pet food requests and route to medical team.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and technical staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Support clients with compassion during stressful moments, including end-of-life visits.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area.

What You’ll Do

• Greet clients and patients warmly, and provide outstanding customer service from check-in to check-out
• Answer phone calls, texts, and emails, and address client questions and concerns promptly and professionally
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily appointment flow to keep the clinic on track
• Process payments, review invoices and estimates with clients, and answer billing questions clearly
• Update client and patient records accurately, and send appointment and vaccine reminders
• Handle prescription refill and pet food requests, take messages, and route them to the medical team
• Collaborate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to keep clinic operations running smoothly
• Support clients with compassion during stressful or emotional moments, including end-of-life visits
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area

What You’ll Bring
