Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to join our team serving Akron, Tallmadge, and Ravenna.

The role involves climbing and pruning trees, removing limbs near utility lines, and performing safety-focused line clearance work for major electric utilities. You’ll operate tools and equipment, work with a crew, and grow with a company that values safety, training, and a strong community presence.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees and participate in pruning/removal tasks.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees per guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson.
