Job summary

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. in Pensacola, FL, seeks an Experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to interview clients and prepare federal and state returns using our proprietary software, while identifying deductions and credits and delivering exceptional service.

This role offers flexible scheduling, a bonus program, and employee discounts. PTIN is required; training and ongoing education help you stay current with tax law changes.

Qualifications

• Tax Preparation Experience: at least one season; two or more preferred.
• Tax Knowledge: familiarity with federal and state returns, deductions, credits, and filing requirements.
• Customer Service: commitment to outstanding service and building client relationships.
• Communication Skills: ability to explain tax information clearly and professionally.
• Attention to Detail: strong organizational skills with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Technology Skills: comfortable using computers and tax software.

• PTIN: valid IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) required or guided through application/renewal.

What We're Looking For

• Tax Preparation Experience: At least one season of professional tax preparation experience required; two or more seasons preferred.
• Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with federal and state individual income tax returns, tax deductions, credits, and filing requirements.
• Customer Service: A commitment to delivering outstanding service and building strong client relationships.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain tax information clearly and professionally.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
• Technology Skills: Comfortable using computers, tax preparation software, and digital tools.

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
