Medders Construction Co Inc in La Porte, TX is seeking skilled Steel Building Erectors to join our team. This hands-on role involves erecting and assembling structural steel components for commercial and industrial buildings, reading blueprints, and coordinating with foremen to meet deadlines.

You must have 5+ years in structural steel erection or ironworking, own tools, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a drug test. OSHA 10/30 preferred.

Qualifications

• Own tools and reliable transportation required.
• Pass a drug test and read construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Erect and assemble structural steel components for commercial and industrial buildings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for steel construction.
• Operate rigging equipment, cranes, and hoisting machinery to position steel beams and columns.
• Bolt, weld, and fasten steel framework according to project specs.
• Inspect alignment of structural members using plumb bobs and levels.
• Follow jobsite safety protocols and use fall protection equipment.
• Coordinate with foremen, ironworkers, and crew to meet deadlines.
