Job summary

Medders Construction Co Inc in La Porte, TX is seeking skilled Steel Building Erectors to join our team. This hands-on role involves erecting and assembling structural steel components for commercial and industrial buildings, reading blueprints, and coordinating with foremen to meet deadlines.

You must have 5+ years in structural steel erection or ironworking, own tools, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a drug test. OSHA 10/30 preferred.

About the Role:

Medders Construction Co Inc is looking for skilled Steel Building Erectors to join our team in La Porte, TX! Responsibilities:

• Erect and assemble structural steel components for commercial and industrial buildings


• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for steel construction projects


• Operate rigging equipment, cranes, and hoisting machinery to position steel beams and columns


• Bolt, weld, and fasten steel framework components according to project specifications


• Inspect and verify alignment of structural steel members using plumb bobs, levels, and other tools


• Follow all jobsite safety protocols, including working at heights and using fall protection equipment


• Coordinate with foremen, ironworkers, and other crew members to meet project deadlines

Requirements:

• 5+ Years experienced in structural steel erection, ironworking, or related construction field


• Must have your own tools


• Must have relaible transportation


• Must be able to pass a drug test


• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings


• Comfortable working at heights and in various outdoor weather conditions


• Knowledge of rigging, hoisting, and crane signal operations is a plus


• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to jobsite safety


• Reliable, hardworking, and a strong team player

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We want experienced hands who can come to the jobsite ready to work. This is not an entry-level position. You must have actual steel building erection experience.
