Job summary

D. G. Granade, Inc. is seeking two experienced steel fabricators/welders for a four-week shop assignment in Northern California. The role focuses on layout, fabrication, and welding of steel handrails and guardrails on an active construction project.

Qualified applicants will read drawings, lay out parts, cut and fit steel, and produce clean, finished assemblies with minimal supervision. At least one candidate must hold a current welding certification applicable to the work.

Qualifications

• Layout steel components to plan.
• Measure and cut accurately to fit.
• Welds must be clean and consistent.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, details, and dimensions.
• Layout handrails and guardrails; lay out and fabricate assemblies.
• Cut, fit, and prepare steel components.
• Fabricate complete rail assemblies to spec.
• MIG and/or stick weld as required; finish welds as needed.
• Maintain shop area and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely.
