Job summary

Herrmann Equipment Inc is seeking an experienced shop and field mechanic for our Southern California operations. You will work on asphalt paving equipment in shop and in the field, troubleshooting hydraulics and electrical systems, and performing welding and fabrication as needed.

The role requires independent work, a full tool set, and a clean driving record, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety under a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with asphalt pavers, milling machines and rollers.
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Welding and steel cutting experience required.
• Must supply a full set of mechanic tools and maintain them.
• Clean driving record and ability to work independently in shop or field.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on asphalt paving equipment in shop and in the field.
• Diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues and implement solutions.
• Read wiring and hydraulic schematics to guide repairs.
• Operate with safety and maintain tools and workspace.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Shop and Field Mechanic to join our growing team at a well-established asphalt paving equipment dealership in Southern California. We prefer candidates with direct experience in the asphalt paving industry who are ready to work on a wide variety of heavy equipment in both shop and field environments. Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with asphalt pavers, milling machines, and rollers
• Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience
• Understanding of 12-volt and 24-volt electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Welding and steel cutting experience required
• Must supply a full set of mechanic tools
• Clean driving record required
• Ability to work independently in both shop and field settings
