Job summary

OU Health's South Emergency Department is seeking an Experienced RN for mid-shift (9:00am–9:00pm) to deliver high-quality inpatient care. The role supports patients with diverse needs in a hospital setting and is suitable for RN I–III depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 0-3 years for RN I; 3-5 years for RN II; 5+ years for RN III.
• License/Certification/Registration: Current RN license and BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
• Assists physician in examination of patients and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates, regulates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Resolves patient complaints in a timely manner with staff support.
• Informs patient and family of hospital procedures and care plan at discharge.
• Fosters an inclusive workplace and pursues ongoing professional development.
