Job summary

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital's Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the full-time night shift. The 8-bed CVICU cares for patients after open heart surgery, valve procedures, and other cardiovascular/ thoracic surgeries.

Preferred experience includes ICU or CVIMC; you will work with intensivists, surgeons, and a collaborative team to provide exceptional patient care and advance your critical care skills.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
• Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Full-Time Night Shift

Join the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and care for patients recovering from complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic procedures in a high-acuity, specialized environment. This 8-bed CVICU provides an excellent opportunity to care for patients following open heart surgery, catheter-based valve procedures, vascular interventions, and thoracic surgeries. ICU or Cardiovascular Intermediate Care (CVIMC) experience is strongly preferred.
