Millennium Physician Group in Cape Coral, FL is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform routine and moderately complex blood collection across assigned patient settings. The role emphasizes patient comfort, specimen integrity, and accurate labeling while working under moderate supervision.

The ideal candidate will have phlebotomy certification or a related program certificate, 4+ years of lab experience, and solid knowledge of labeling/ID procedures.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 4+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol and common lab tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, capillary collection, and other approved specimen collection procedures for routine and moderately complex draws.
• Review test orders, patient identifiers, collection timing, specimen containers, and handling requirements before collection.
• Respond to routine patient concerns and collection workflow issues within established procedures.
• Label, store, and route specimens to maintain chain of custody and specimen integrity.
• Document collection activity and any specimen issues in applicable systems.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment per infection control and safety standards.
• Communicate collection issues or delays to the laboratory and care teams.
