Millennium Physician Group in Cape Coral, FL, is seeking a Laboratory Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture and specimen collection across assigned patient settings. You will verify patient identity, label specimens, and ensure proper handling and transport while maintaining patient comfort and specimen integrity.

You will work under moderate supervision, review orders, address routine concerns, maintain supplies, and uphold infection control standards.

Formación

• Phlebotomy certification or MA certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 4+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.

Responsabilidades

• Perform venipuncture, capillary collection, and other approved specimen collection procedures for routine and moderately complex draws.
• Review test orders, patient identifiers, collection timing, specimen containers, and handling requirements before collection.
• Label, store, and route specimens to maintain chain of custody, temperature requirements, and specimen integrity.
• Document collection activity, specimen issues, patient refusals, and unsuccessful attempts in applicable systems.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies, collection areas, and equipment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
• Communicate specimen collection issues, delays, or patient needs to laboratory, clinical, and care team partners.
