Job summary

Safepoint Insurance, a Property & Casualty carrier, seeks experienced Personal Lines Underwriters for our Metairie, LA office. The role focuses on reviewing applications, inspections, and endorsements to determine eligibility within company guidelines.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of underwriting experience in homeowners insurance, a LA P&C Producer license with reciprocal licenses nationwide, and strong communication and technical skills. College degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of underwriting experience for a carrier in property and casualty homeowners insurance required.
• LA P&C Individual Producer license and reciprocal licenses in all 50 states.
• Thorough knowledge of the underwriting process and the analytics involved.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Advanced computer skills and strong systems knowledge.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews applications, inspections, and endorsement requests to determine eligibility.
• Reviews requests for underwriter cancellation/nonrenewal action and endorsements for acceptability.
• Interprets manuals and contracts for multiple lines of business in multiple states.
• Researches and enters information into the policy administration system.
• Communicates effectively internally and externally, escalating issues when warranted.
• Adheres to productivity and quality metrics; other tasks may be assigned.
