Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum 4-6 years of combined work experience as a retail parts counter salesman and/or warehouse associate in a parts sales and service shop environment.
• Good technical knowledge of Caterpillar and allied heavy equipment (mechanical systems, diesel engines/engine failures, electrical and hydraulic systems).
• Ability to read and comprehend computer-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and other related publications.
• Proficient verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Good problem solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
• Good computer skills using related information system applications (ex: SIS, DBS).
• Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
• Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced service environment.
• Ability to work standard five-day work schedule, including daily overtime, and occasional weekend hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all functions related to the parts order management process including receiving, posting, shelving, picking, and shipping parts and components.
• Assist with customer service including quotes, availability, orders/returns/exchanges, and resolving issues.
• Inspect and process customer core returns for credit and shipment.
• Record and track lost sales opportunities to support inventory management.
• Fabricate customized hydraulic hoses to specification.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack to move parts for delivery or stocking.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work area and appearance.
