Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician in California to ensure the proper maintenance and distribution of sterile supplies for patient care. The role requires CSPDT or CRCST certification, a high school diploma, and at least 2 years in a hospital sterile processing or surgery setting.

The position operates under a SEIU-UHW bargaining agreement, with on-call duties and an hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in an acute care hospital, sterile processing, or surgery department.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper maintenance and distribution of disposable supplies and durable medical equipment for patient care.
• Report malfunctions or questionable loads to the Lead Technician or Manager.
• Provide information to facilitate receipt of MSDS and maintain shift reports/communication logs.
• Notify SPD Lead/Nursing units of positive biologicals/wet loads and equipment malfunctions.
• Collaborate with OR Advanced Clinician on instrumentation needs.
• Maintain count sheets, par levels and order as needed to complete trays.
• Deliver in-service education to staff 4–5 times per year in coordination with Leads and Advanced Clinicians.
