Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced OR RN to join our nursing team in California. The role focuses on delivering safe, therapeutic care using the nursing process within an interdisciplinary setting, while supporting the management of patient care across surgical specialties.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years in adult OR, holds California RN licensure, and CPR certification, with proficiency in open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years recent Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience.
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Proficiency in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
• Proficiency in scrubbing surgical procedures.
• Proficiency in circulating duties.
• Experience in General Surgery, Ortho, Neuro, OHNS, GU, GYN, Breast/Plastics, Endoscopy.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
• Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
• Basic computer skills and general PC knowledge.
• CNOR and BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care.
• Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required.
• Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
