Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Surg/Ortho Unit. The role offers full-time status at 36 hours per week with a rotating Day/Evening schedule and every other weekend/holiday requirements.

You will provide ADLs, support patient care, and communicate with the nursing team to ensure safety and quality care. CNA preferred; CPR/BLS required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of UPMC Nursing Assistant training.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.

Responsibilities

• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Assures equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department.
• Provides direct patient care as directed by the RN including all ADLs.
• Maintains patient safety and recovery by completing safety checks and keeping spaces organized.
