A leading grocery retailer in Bound Brook Junction, NJ is seeking a Meat Cutter to prepare and display various meat products while ensuring excellent customer service. Candidates should have a working understanding of meat processes and comply with safety regulations. Experience and completion of the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program are preferred. Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds is necessary.
• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, plats, and merchandises products including beef, pork, and poultry.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Provides excellent customer service in a timely manner.

Skills

Working understanding of Meat team processes and procedures

Excellent cutting skills with the ability to bread product down into sub-primal and retail cuts

Extensive knowledge of different cuts and cooking techniques of meat and seafood

Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness

Strong to excellent communication skills

Ability to meet customer service expectations

Ability to follow directions and procedures

Passion for natural foods

Education

Successfully completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent
